I cannot find a way to hyperlink from one pdf file to a bookmark in another pdf file using Acrobat Pro X. Is this possible and if so how?

Right-clic on the bookmark : Properties : Actions tab : Select Action - Execute menu item
And follow instructions.

Thanks, but your answer does not give me the information I need. When I create a link in the source pdf file the pop up gives me the choice of 1. Go to page view 2. Open file 3. Open web page or 4. Custom link. I have tried all of these and cannot get to a place that allows me to select a bookmark in the destination pdf for the link. When I use the "go to page view" option I can go to a specific place in the destination document, but the link just goes to that page, not to the bookmark on that page. Is there any way to get the link to go to that specific bookmark?

in the destination file create a 'named destination'. from the source file point your link at the named destination in the destination file. you may also want to point the bookmark (in the destination file) to the same named destination.

Thanks, but I guess that means there is no way to link directly to a bookmark. You have to create a "named destination" and link to that.

I just would like confirmation that there is INDEED no way to link directly to a bookmark besides creating a named destination and link as stated earlier.

You can't directly link to a bookmark, but it is possible (under certain limitations) to use a script which opens a PDF file, looks for a certain bookmark, and if it finds it, goes to it.
