i use acrobat to convert an excel or word doc into a pdf file for email on occasion and that's all. is it necessary to have acrobat 8.1 on my pc system? it takes up 655 mb that compared to a programs i use all the time Photo Shop CS3 and Lightroom use 70-80 mb each. is something installed wrong? If not what on Acrobat can i get rid of and just have the ability to create a simple pdf file of two or three pages? I don't want all those mb 's on my system busy tending to something i hardly use. please advise. thank you.

Adobe Reader allows anyone to convert a few (I think 5) files to PDF for free. After that there is a small fee.

Download the latest version of Reader and review this feature, it may be a solution to your problem.
