Acrobat Reader 8.1 File Opening Problem

I recently upgraded to Acrobat Reader 8.1. When I try to open a pdf attachment after downloading it directly from the email, I get a message "There was an error openining this document. The file cannot be found." If I open Acrobat Reader and then go to the file, it opens fine. Didn't have this problem with previous versions of AR. What could be wrong? I use AOL and Windows XP. Thanks

See this thread at the Adobe Reader User to User forums- there appears to be some problems with AOL that have been around for a while now.
