Does any know why the TRIAL VERSION of Acrobat 9 is only available for Windows PC and not for Mac and is it likely to come out as a trial version for Mac?

You can get a trial version of CS4 Design Premium that includes Acrobat 9, maybe that is the way to do it.
Only an Adobe employee could tell you the whys, and believe me you are not the first to ask. But from what I've heard there will not be a trial version for the Mac released in future.
