I a day back installed adobe reader 8.1 so that my purpose of adding and removing watermarks is solved but regret to tell that there is no option in document

There are lots of things in a PDF that can look like a "Watermark", but aren't. In the Acrobat/PDF nomenclature a "Watermark" is page content that is marked as part of an OCG named "Watermark".
The Acrobat 8 menu items that add and remove watermarks will not recognize anything else as a watermark.
