Adding Ink signature in acrobat reader

Our MD would like to add his signature, not a digital id to pdfs that have been sent to him to sign, he only has Acrobat reader, when I test this the option is greyed out in the menu, security settings says no commenting or signing of document allowed, yet when the file is opened in Acrobat Pro, all options are allowed, this is on all PDFs docs I have tried,
 
Are there any prefs I need to alter in reader

The product is named 'Reader' because that is all it does. If you want to do anything else then you either have to have a PDF that has special rights enabled or you need to purchase an Acrobat product that can perform the tasks you want to perform. This is one reason Reader is a free product and the entire Acrobat product line is a purchased and licensed product.
