Is Adobe Acrobat Pro ever going to be multi-threaded?

I have a 900MB, 3544 page PDF that I'm doing a reduce file size.
It's using a single CPU core. It's going to take all day practically.

Seriously, this is 2011, why isn't Adobe capable of using multiple processors/cores?

It's pretty ridiculous that a $400 product isn't designed for a CPU more modern than a Pentium 3....

Oh, and the same holds true on OCR'ing documents too.

This is a massive shortcoming in Adobe's lineup, IMHO.

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 9.0, Windows

Hear hear!
Also, try running a complex script on a large file... Acrobat chokes due to bad memory handling in no-time.
