Adobe Reader X, IE9 Standard User inconsistency of display PDF in browser

Hi Folks

Just installed Adobe Reader X (10.1) on a Win 7 computer running IE9. This computer has 1 account set as Administrator and 3 others as Standard Users.

Adobe Reader was never installed before.

Only 1 of the standard user accounts will display a PDF file within the IE9 windows. The other two accounts display it in the Adobe Reader X window.
BTW the administrator account displays PDFs within IE9.

I've compared all the settings for IE9 from the 3 accounts and none of the settings for Adobe Reader X were changed. The "Display PDF in Browser" is checked in all instances.

Does anyone have a pointer or two as to where to look as far as IE9 or Windows settings to figure out this inconsistency?

Thank you

I would try making sure that the AdobePDF.dll is enabled in Internet Explorer and/or possibly checking that the HKCR\AcroExch.Document registry key (which involves modifying the Windows registry and Adobe doesn't provide support for editing the registry, which contains critical system and application information) points to the proper location. You can find details on how to perform these functions in the following technical note:
