Please forgive me if this topic does not go here,

Why is the upgrade pricing the way it is?
I have V8 standard.
Upgrading to V9 Standard $100
Upgrading to V9PRO $160
THIS IS OK.
I see that if I had V8PRO, the upgrade amount is still $160.
Why? This doesn't affect me now, as I would need to pay the upgrade from Standard to Pro, but next year, When I go to upgrade, and stay with PRO, $160 bucks will be harder to swallow as those with the Standard are paying the same thing. Makes me really consider staying with Standard, as it meets my needs and not want to explore the new features of PRO.
Now if I BUY PRO (full) and upgrade, I still have the $160 upgrade price.
Should be $100.
Thanks for any helpful comments.

In general more features results in a higher price, the same applies to Micro$oft's pricing for the upgrades of Micro$oft Office products. This also reflects the additional cost to develop the extra features.
