Applying Header/Footer to multiple documents at the same time

I'm wondering if there's a way to apply a header or footer to a series of documents at the same time, perhaps as a batch.

I see the option of saving a header/footer so that it can easily be applied to each individual file but that still takes a lot of work considering I want to put the same header on about 300 documents.

I'm using acrobat pro version 8. We might also be doing this in adobe capture.

any help would be great.
