What options do I have in Acrobat, Acrobat plug-ins or with other PDF software to automatically repaginate a pdf file based on bookmarks being moved?

I don't think it's going to be possible, but it depends a bit on which level you want this to happen.
If you're only working with top-level bookmarks, then maybe. For example, I have created a script that extracts top level bookmarks of a file as separate "chapters". You can probably use something like that to re-order your file manually. Doing it automatically could be more tricky.

yes, as try67 says, it's very tricky -- perhaps even not possible. my suggestion: reorder the pages manually. also why do you need to reorder the pages? does your reader really need to browse thru pages in the order of the bookmarks?

It's necessary for reviewers to be able to sequentially go through bookmarks in sequence order, otherwise there is a possibility that an important document might be missed, because it was never bookmarked.

I found one adobe add-in, but it's expensive and includes many unneeded features:

pdflyer add-in by CCH is also able to offer this type of functionality.

Hi RmanB17499,

We've got a JavaScript automation tool at www.pdfscripting.com that will re-order pages based on bookmark order- if bookmarks are moved around the pages can be re-ordered with a button click. It's not free though- you have to purchase a membership for access, but maybe all the other resources for automating Acrobat there may be of interest as well- just another thing for consideration.

Hope this helps,

Dimitri

Thank you, I don't mind willing to pay -- but I wish you can provide an ala carte option. Looks good though, I'll keep your site in mind while I compile a list of options for a solution.
