Automatic rotation

I use various Adobe acrobats versions 6, 7 & 9 on different PC's for running a batch processes of OCR on documents I have scanned.

The documents are always scanned the correct way but after the OCR is complete the software has rotated some documents upside down, clockwise etc.

I looked in to this nearly two years ago and there was no way to stop this, no options within Acrobat. Third party software's appears to be the same!

Does anyone know if this is still the case or is there a way to turn automatic rotation off.

Thanks for your help in advance. Ricky.

Have you tried increasing your DPI to see if corrects the problem?

Yes, I still have the same issues when we scan our documents on a higher DPI.

What setting are you using when running the OCR?

If I do it manual I use: Document > OCR Text Recognition > Recognise Text using OCR with these options in edit:
Primary OCR Language: English (UK)
PDF Outpout Style: Searchable Image (Exact)
Down samples Images (lowest 600 DPI)For a large batch I do it using the Batch Processing option I use:

I create a new batch sequence and add the process, Recognise Text using OCR.
In edit I use these settings:
Primary OCR Language: English (UK)
PDF Outpout Style: Searchable Image (Exact)
Down samples Images (lowest 600 DPI)

I checked with a few folks and unfortunately this is a common problem associated with OCR - if the OCR process thinks the text is predominately in another direction it will rotate the page.

I've seen a few workarounds but they involve "recreating" the PDF, which I don't recommend:

Thanks lkassuba.

The answer is basically the same as 2008. I will look into your link but it looks as if I may have to continue with the manual checks to make sure no documents have been rotated out of place.
