Bad Parameter

I receive multiple documents that are on a disk that is are Adobe documents. I however combine them all into one Adobe PDF Document and add Bookmarks and links to a Table of Contents. After doing so I save the document. Which is not the issue. I then secure the document by "restricting opening" using a password. After which Adobe prompts me that the Security will not happen until I save the document again. When I try to save the document I get an error code that says it cannot be saved because of a "bad parameter". Can someone please help me? Thank you.

My Product Information:
Acrobat Standard 6.0.0, Windows

Hi nutzabout24,

Have you tried Save As? Can you extract, insert, or deleted pages? Also, you might want to use some of the Preflight tools to examine the document for the offending page(s).

Let me know if this helps -- if not please provide additional detail on the multiple documents you are combining.

Thanks,
Lori

I have tried with security bat still have the same error. It does not remove page at all, just pop out the error message.

I have exactly the same problem as depatel, with the same configuration: Windows 7 and Acrobat 9 with all the updates. I can scan into Windows applications like Paint, but Acrobat gives me a "bad parameter" error.

Is this a network scanner or local scanner?

It is a local scanner: HP PCS 2175 All-in-One connected via USB.

I fixed this problem myself. I uninstalled and reinstalled the scanner and then checked HP's site and downloaded every update and patch available for my O.S. The scanner now works with Acrobat 9.

Thanks for letting us know you were able to correct the problem using the above mentioned solution. Can you let us know if you're running Acrobat 9.2 or later?

Thanks

I am using Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro v. 9.3.0. When I try to scan a document from my local Officejet 4215, it get an error message "bad parameter". I can scan the document from Windows scan, so it seems that Windows 7 recognizes the scanner.

Can you scan from any other application? Have you updated your scan driver to the Windows 7 version?

Yes. I updated the driver for the Officejet for Windows 7. Is there a separate scan driver for Adobe?

Same here - updated to 9.3.0 and Windows will recognize and scan but not in Acrobat. Also won't convert web pages to .pdf....

In Acrobat 9:

Document --> Scan to PDF --> Configure PresetsFrom there, Select your scanner from the topmost drop-down menu.

Click OK, and it should work.
