Booklet printing

Hi

I've downloaded a PDF and want to print it as a booklet. It only has two pages, and I have a duplex printer, simple right!

The document is a standard 11.67 x 8.27. In the advanced document properties the scaling is set to default.

In the print dialog box I have chosen Booklet Printing, Both Sides, Sheets 1 to 1, Auto Rotate is ticked and binding is Left.

In the preview it shows a landscape sheet with the first page taking up half of the A4 size, positioned to the right. So the print is landscape but not across the whole A4 sheet, it would be landscape across an A5 sheet.

When it prints it prints the first page on one side of the sheet (using half the A4) and the second page prints on the back at the other end of the sheet (again using half of the A4). Both would be landscape on an A5 not an A4

My printer is an HP Officejet Pro L7860.

I've tried changing various options in the printer properties and the print dialog box but can't get it to understand I want A4 landscape on A4 paper not a5 landlscape on half of A4 paper!

Any thoughts anyone?

Thanks

Deb

If the PDF file already includes spreads (so each page of the PDF occupies the complete area of one side of the paper) then you don't want booklet mode - you simply want double-sided, and the default (i.e. auto-rotate and fit or 100%) page scaling.

Ah, thanks UVSAR, I was making something very simple very complicated!

The only problem I have now is that it is printing the front and back upside down to each other - any ideas?

Thanks

Provided the PDF file isn't protected you can either rotate the second page (Tools Pane > Pages > Rotate) or in your printer's setup dialog, change the duplex mode so it flips around the short edge rather than the long edge.
