Bookmark destination replacing pages

Hi,
I noted that when I replace pages in a PDF using Acrobat6 (function Document > Pages > Replace) the destination of bookmarks directed to the page that has been replaced are automatically redirected to the subsequent page. This did not occur using Acrobat5. Is there a way to preserve bookmarks (and maybe links) destination when replacing pages with Acrobat6? Mmany thanks for your help, Armando

My Product Information:
Acrobat Standard 6, Windows

Hi Armando,

If you have a bookmark that opens another page (page 5 for example) and replace pages, the destination remains intact when you replace a page. As a matter of fact you can create bookmarks in a document and replace all pages and all the bookmarks are preserved. If you delete a page, the target destination is removed and the bookmark becomes a dead link.

Unfortunately, Acrobat 8 hasn't given us much improvement in managing bookmarks. If you want to copy/paste bookmarks for example, you need to use a 3rd party plug-in.

For managing bookmarks in Acrobat look for my article later in my new series on PDF Interactivity. You'll find a notice on the home page of Acrobat Users in the How To column when the article comes up in a few weeks.

Ted,
thank you very much for the quick answer.

Based on your answer, I retested replacing a page in a PDF and monitoring what happens to bookmarks and links (before I had monitored only bookmarks) that have that page as a destination.
Again the existing bookmarks and links fail to recall the replaced page (page 9 in this case) and lead to the subsequent page (page 10).
This happens using Acrobat Standard Version 6.0.4.
No shift in page addressing is introduced, instead, if the page replacement is done using Acrobat 5.
Is there something I should change in configuration? Something wrong in the way I perform the page replacement (Document > Pages > Replace)?
Again, thank you for your time, Armando
