I'm working on a manual for my company, and I want to make it so that any time someone clicks on the link to the manual, the document will open with the Bookmarks sidebar visible so they can see the Table of Contents. Is there any way to do that?

Use File > Properties... to open the Document Properties.
Select the "Initial View" tab.
In the "Layout and Magnification" pane's "Navigation tab:" select "Bookmarks Panel and Page".
