I have just converted from 6.0 to 8.0 professional and I use the bookmarking function very often. In 8.0 they removed the "Go to a page in another doc" from the action options. I use this option to go to specific pages quite often in other pdfs. I know how to use the "Open a file", but it doesn't give you the option to go to a specific page in the document. Any options?

From the menu bar:

Click View, Navigation Panel, Bookmarks

or

Click, View, Toolbars, Page Navigation

Let me add just a bit more to the response here.

Peter, I think what you're looking for is the Go to a page view action. The nomenclature changed but it has the same use as Go to a page in another document in earlier versions of Acrobat. Add the Action in the Action tab and when you click Add, you'll see the small Create Go to View dialog box open. At this point you can open files, navigate pages and views while the dialog box remains open. Set the view you want and click the Set Link button in the Create Go to View dialog box.

After you create the link, click the Go to a page in this document item you see in the Actions list and click the Edit button. This opens the Window Preferences where you can decide whether to use the Cross-Doc link User Preferences, Open in a New Window, or Open in the Same Window.

Hope this helps.

I've been using the Link tool in Acrobat 6 Professional to make hyperlinks to a page in another pdf document. Now I've upgraded to Acrobat 8 the option to "Open a page in another document" isn't there. I want the reader to be able to click within the pdf document, and not just from the Bookmark panel as your previous messages appear to make possible.

Help?
