Can an index of multiple PDFs be created in Standard 9

I am using Acrobat Standard 9. I need to create a few indexes of multiple documents.
Is this possible with this version? The menu selections found in the help area do not exist in this Acrobat.
Thank you,

Looking over the online Help the search index creation capabilities for Acrobat 9 are:

Advanced > Document Processing > Full Text Index With Catalog (Pro / Pro Extended)
[this is what would be used for multiple PDFs in a single directory of a directory of PDFs and sub-directories having PDFs]

or

Advanced > Document Processing > Manage Embedded Index. (Standard / Pro / Pro Extended)
[used for individual PDFs]

To create a Catalog index, Acrobat Pro or Pro Extended will be required.

Be well...

I was afraid that would be the answer.
Is there other way to work around this? Can perhaps an older version of Standard accomplish creating indexes of several documents?

Acrobat 5 was the last version before the introduction of the "Professional" and "3D Extended" variations.
