Changed footer info and it automatically propagated other pages; how?

This happened once by accident, and I want to know how to do it on purpose in Acrobat 7 Pro. I was updating version/issue and date in the footers, starting from the beginning of the document using touch up text tool. To my pleasant surprise, when I went to subsequent pages to change them, the new info was already there! Don't know how or why, but I want to do it again. Can't seem to replicate that miracle when I wanted to share it with a co-worker. Does anybody know the steps to make this happen every time?

Hi --

I think it was a bug! There's no logical way for Acrobat to initiate change in a document without a specific command. Are your footers entered using the Document > Header & Footer path? If so, all you need to do is open the dialog box, and make the changes there. The rest of the file will update itself automatically if you choose to apply the change to all pages [which is the default].On the other hand, you said you started to update the footers with the TouchUp Text tool, which leads me to believe the footers are imported with the document content.

If you want to replicate your 'miracle' delete the existing footers, and then insert them using the Header & Footer feature in Acrobat.donna.
