Cleaning Up Clearscan OCR

I'm using Acrobat Pro 9 on a Mac OS X (10.6.1).

I am scanning book indexes to PDF at 400DPI 24Bit Colour and then processing to OCR Clearscan in Acrobat.

Some portions of the text do not seem to process correctly in the OCR run. I'd like to edit the text in the documents to get the correct text in there.

The Problem: When I select the area I wish to edit I get the following error message - "Accumulated text within the attempted selection area is rotated other than horizontal or vertical. TouchUp cannot create a text selection." So I cannot edit the text. However the area does look to be horizontal.

How can I either fix this or can you suggest another method of having an easily editable OCR scan of the document?

Unfortunately, this is an issue with Clearscan and rotated text.
