I am using Acrobat 8 Professional (8.1.6), Windows & Mac.

I need separate one-page pdf's to end up on a single pdf page.

How do I Combine two 8.5x11" 1-page documents, into one 11x17" 1-page document?

I can see how to combine separate pdf's into a single pdf, but each of the originals end up on separate pages. I need them on the same page.

I have scoured the archives, and not found a question/solution like this before, so hopefully someone out there knows or can improvise a solution.

Thank you,
Duane

This will point you in right direction: use command "file create > from blank page". But first, reset the blank page template (preferences > new document) to landscape tabloid (17x11). Then launch the template (file create > from blank). open the two 8.5x11 pages and copy/paste (use select all) each page in turn to the template. There are variations depending on whether the source pages are renderable text or image. Use the "touchup object" tool. You'll need to experiment.

Thank you SO MUCH rbogie for that help. I have been needing this literally for YEARS (been using other software).

So, I have other page sizes to do also. I am ganging images together to fit on proof or film or plate output. Not real imposition, just efficient use of material and time. There were only limited default page sizes when making a new blank page, but after creating the blank page, then I simply edited the page size to be what I needed:

EXAMPLE:
File:CreatePDF:FromBlankPage
Advanced:PrintProduction:CropPages
ChangePageSize (area at bottom left of window):Custom:Width44in:Height36in
OK

Now I have a Maximum film size for an Avantra44 Imagesetter. I use the tool you recommended
Tools:AdvancedEditing:TouchUp Object Tool

I open up all the PDF's I want to gang onto the same film/proof/plate, and select the images/objects/text using that TouchUpObjectTool, then using the same tool Paste the elements onto the blank page and drag to where I want, until the page is filled. Brilliant.

Again, thank you rbogie.
