Does anyone know how to configure bookmarks to open web links in a new browser window?

I'm working with a PDF file that's being viewed by multiple people from their respective browser windows (IE7).

The PDF file has a bookmark that opens a web link. Clicking the bookmark opens the web link in the same browser window, taking the users away from the PDF. These users don't always know to click the browser's back button to get back to the PDF file, so I'd prefer that the bookmark open the web link in a new window.

Is this doable? I'm using Acrobat 9 Pro. Thanks.

Hi, I've seen this and similar posts/responses. Viewed the blog suggested and implemented. Works for me when I view on my machine but when posted on the server does not work for my audience.

We are posting a .pdf file that opens within IE in our LMS. I need our audience to click on links that will open in a new window otherwise they will close the LMS window.

Any suggestions?

Keep in mind that, from the discussion of file specification in the ISO PDF standard, the presumption is that PDF links function within context of a single interface. That of browser-pdf in a web server environment or network environment. Link resolution is, fundmentally, provided in context of W3C's RFCs/Recommendations associated with URI/URL.

LMS puts a second interface in place (LMS-browser).
The end-user must pass through LMS-browser then browser-pdf then into pdf-2-pdf.
The pdf-2-pdf, within browser-pdf works.
So I wonder what impact the LMS-browser interface has on things.
Perhaps, something to poke at.
