Help!!

Every time I open a PDF, I get a window that pops up saying "Content Preparation Progress - Preparing the document for reading." I don't know why this comes up or how to turn it off, but Adobe now crashes if I try to open multiple PDFs at the same time.

HELP!!

Adobe Acrobat Pro 8.1.2

Thanks.

Something is very, very wrong with your Acrobat installation. You need to contact Adobe technical support. And I would suggest that you uninstall Acrobat, then reinstall, and do not under any circumstances update to 8.12

I have exactly the same problem with version 8.1.2. (win XP)

Always that anoing pop up window with "content preparation progress" when I open any pdf file.

Did the test to open more than one file at the same time, and it crashes when opening 3 or more files.

As far as the content preparation goes, this is totally incorrect. There is nothing wrong with your installation.

1. Go to Edit -> Preferences -> Reading
2. Under "Screen Reader Options", select "Only read the currently visible pages"

As far as Adobe crashing with multiple documents, that could be a number of different things, and not so easy to diagnose with the given information.
