Publisher was supported with the PDFMaker in Acrobat 7. Use the PDFMaker to create a PDF from Publisher. If using an earlier version of Acrobat/Publisher where the PDFMaker is not supported, print the file to PostScript and distill the file using Acrobat Distiller.

Same goes for MS Word.

I read the question as asking the reverse of your answer, Ted. He has the pdf, and wants the original document. I get asked this a lot in my company. My answer is: Maybe. In my (albeit limited) experience, successful re-conversion depends totally on where the pdf originated.
FILE, SAVE AS, WORD DOC ( in the drop down file type menu) works great IF the original was a word doc without extensive formatting. Sometimes it even works perfectly!

That is what I meant, dottie. Thanks. I tried it on Publisher and got something better than nothing to work with. Again, thanks

ooops. Sorry. You can export the PDF file in a number of formats such as a Word .doc file, RTF file, etc. Unfirtunately, you can't export the layout as you see it in Publisher.
