Converting from PDF to Word?

Does Acrobat 8.0 Professional actually convert documents from a PDF to a Word document? I have heard that it does and it doesn't and I thought I would ask the experts.

Acrobat version &7 & 8 can perform a "Save As" a Word DOC file from the opened PDF, but it will not preserve of all the formatting of the displayed PDF document or original Word fiie.

Ok that is what I wanted to know. I was not as concerned about saving the format. Thanks for your prompt response.
