Copy and Paste Objects go to center of Page. I Want original position.

I'm accustomed to Acrobat 5 where I select an object with the object touchup tool, right click copy it, then go to another page of the pdf or another pdf entirely and paste the object. It will ususally go to it's original position on the page.
This is the desired result, because I often have to make minor touchups or updates to pdfs.

Now that I have Acrobat 7.0 the paste fuction always sends the object to the center of the page.

How can I prevent that.. Is there a way to change this behavior.. ???

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 7.0, Windows

the short answer is NO. but experiment with this: narrow the window of the target (paste to) page (leave zoom at a fixed value, not at fit to page), both in the vertical and in the horizontal ,such that the desired location of placement is in the center of the narrowed window and then execute a paste. use the touchup object tool to reposition (and resize) the pasted object. to copy an object to multiple pages at the exact same position, you may adapt the button tool (advanced > forms) as a read only with icon (the graphic). after closing the button tool right click on the button (displaying your graphic) and click duplicate. this will put the graphic at the same postion on a range of pages. (keep a backup of the version prior to executing duplicate, as there is not an easy way to remove all the duplicated buttons once you have saved the file) NOTE: this applies to AA8 and AA9. (can't say for sure about AA7 since haven't used it in a long time)

Hi,

You can go to the XML structure of the PDF ,copy the entire structure you want to copy ,then open the PDF to which you want to paste it.

No, it's very easy :

Acrobat 7/8 : View menu > Navigation panels > FieldsAcrobat 9 : Forms menu > Add or edit fields > clic the icon in the Navigation panel (only one here)Then select the field, and delete !

Thanks to all for your suggestions.. They seem to be more work than I want to do with these files.
If I have to re-position an object after pasting.. that seems easier and less time consuming.
While I deal a lot with PDFs, I keep the editing to a minimum as these are customer files.
