Is there a way after you create a link on a .pdf document, you can copy that link and paste it to several other pages of your document, maintining the link to its original destination. Sort of like absolute referencing in excel.
Thank You..

Yes.

In Adobe Acrobat Professional or Standard, in version 7 anyway, to create a link, go under the Tools menu, select Advanced Editing, then cascade select Link Tool.

Once you have that URL in your clipboard, you can copy and paste (after you create a link) on any and all pages.

Hope this helps - if it is a small job and you are lost, send it to me and I will do that for you, but it is pretty easy.

MichaelJohn,
Thank for your reply, but I don't think I explained myself very well. I want a certain point in the document to be reference from other points in the document. The actual link (reference point)is always the same, but through the document is different - sort of absolute reference. I am using version 8.0 which I think is different that 7 in this matter.

Hi Nick,

Well, while I am not sure what "a certain point in the document" means exactly, could you put this in terms of a TOC (Table Of Contet) or a Glossary ?

When you say "document" - is this a single PDF file with multiple pages (so all links are "inclusive" - or do these links point to things like URLs (outside the PDF)

You probablyare explaining yourself just fine, but my brain is damaged from years of abuse and I am slow on the uptake.

Please describe a senario, or perhaps create a small example and email it to me at michaelejahn [at] gmail [dot] com
