Copy/paste problems

Hi.

I am getting troubles trying to copy/paste text from Acrobat Pro. It happens in all I use to paste the text (Word, Excel, Notepad). Sometimes I got white spaces between the letters of a word. On a previous question I got the answer that this could be because I don’t have the fonts that were used to create the PDF but I have them. What else could it be?

Thanks in advance.

Hi --

You are going to experience that problem with copy and paste. Extra spaces are sometimes included in the conversion of the text from Acrobat to your receiving program. If you are in Word, for example, use Edit > Replace and replace all double spaces with a single one.The other thing that often happens is that the extra space is interpreted as a non-breaking space, which is viewed differently from a regular space. If you toggle the Turn On icon to show the punctuation, you'll see a superscript "o" which is the character for the nonbreaking space. You can also delete those automatically, but instead of using the spacebar to insert two spaces in the Find field, use ^s which is the Word representation of the nonbreaking space.

You can use the same process in Notepad and Excel.
