Opening a PDX file in Firefox .. not working for me -- i got it to work somehow using older versions or FF and it carried through, but in general, it seems it opens the text of the PDX file rather than Adobe itself
Going to Tools, Options, Applications -- PDX (Adobe Catalog Index) is generally not included. Somehow it got added to my machine but no others that I've ever used.
It seems to work in IE, or at least I can make it work -- any clue how to make it run in FF?
That idea is starting to lose some wheels .. so I thought about changing my ideas -- this part may be more important. Before I lock my PDFs, I can go to File, Properties, Advanced, and Click on Browse to attach a PDX to a PDF file.
I need to know exactly what this does -- does this mean every time I do a full Search, it will search the index, and I won't have to manually add it (even the first time -- I know it stars, but I'd love to be able to access it the very first time)? This is what I'm hoping -- but feedback would be great.
Lastly, if the attaching an index functions as I hope -- is there any way to script this to add to to a number of PDF files .. I couldnt even tel you how many we're talking here, but the set is being increased at nearly all times. I was hoping I could just add it in the rebuild of the index or something.

manually browse to and select another (in the Search window) or you go to another PDF with a different "auto-mount"
*.pdx file.
So, if you've collections of PDFs for broad or specific categories you can
--| provide a "search" PDF that has a mounted index of a given collection.
You could have a PDF with links to each of these perhaps.
--| provide a navigational TOC that mounts an index of a collection and provides links to PDFs in a collection
The second choice lets the user go to any of the linked PDFs and initiate an advanced search.
n.b., it does help to select "Always use advanced search options" for "Search" in the Preferences of
Reader - Standard - Professional. Typically this would have to be done by the user.
Add new PDF files or the same output PDF files from an authoring application then rebuild the index manually or
schedule the indexing.
