Hello
I am working in Acrobat Professional 8 and would like to create navigation buttons on each page of a document which will be viewed using Acrobat Reader in full screen mode.
There appears to be no problem, and everything works OK, for buttons which request the next or previous page, or the start or end of the document, but I would also like to include a couple of zoom buttons, one of which zooms to, say, 200% while the other zooms back to fit the page to the screen size.
Can anyone tell me, please, is there any way to prevent buttons added using Tools/Forms/Button Tool from themselves zooming with the page content?
Or is there a better way to approach this? An alternative method would be to create a fixed custom navigation bar at the bottom of the screen to contain my buttons. Is this possible, and if so can anyone point me in the right direction, please?
Any help will be much appreciated.
Regards
Andrew
Navigation in PDFs is a big and sometimes complex topic. There is a lot you can do to make navigating around large PDFs easier.
It is not possible to zoom a page and not zoom the buttons too and visa versa. That would be cool though.
You can create a navigation toolbar for your PDF and have buttons for zooming in and out- you could even have the button zoom in increments each time it is clicked or scroll to the rigth, left, etc. Lots of options.
Bob Connolly at www.pdfpictures.com has a lot of examples of full screen PDF brochures, presentations, magazines, etc that use a variety of navigation toolbars- worth a look to see some of the possibilities.
Ted Padova wrote two articles here at AUC on using buttons for navigation in PDFs that may have some useful tips for you-

A set of documentation, sample PDF files, and copy-n-paste scripts were recently published at www.pdfscripting.com all on the topic of navigation in PDFs. It is a paid membership site though, so the content is not free.
Hope this helps,
