I'd like to be able to display bookmarks as a default - ie, so that they are displayed when a file is first opened. The bookmarks icon is visible, but the bookmarks themselves aren't visible when the file is first opened.

I'm using Acrobat 9 Pro to convert a PowerPoint 2003 presentation.

Thanks

Acrobat Pro 9.0, Windows

Have you looked at the PDF Maker covnersion settings?

You could also add a document level script like

 this.pane = "bookmarks"; // show bookmark pane

Hi CatherineS,

If you want to just have that one PDF open with the bookmarks panel showing you can go to File-Document Properties, and under the Initial View tab set the Navigation Tab: pulldown to BookMarks Panel and Page. The viewer can change this if they want after opening but on first opening the bookmark panel will display.

Hope this helps,

Hi gkaiseril and Dimitri

Many thanks to both of you for your suggestions. I followed Dimitri's advice and changed the document properties, which did the trick.

I've only just started using Acrobat 9 and don't know how to add document level script, but I will investigate further when I have a chance.
