Adobe Reader (any version) cannot "enable" a PDF. New with Adobe Reader X is the ability to comment on PDF files with highlighter and sticky note tools. When a PDF is enabled by Acrobat X a user of Adobe Reader X may be able to perform the following: (n.b., Which feature is available is determined at the time the PDF is enabled by Acrobat X. Also, Acrobat X Standard can be used to enable a PDF for form data fill in and save.)
• When enabled by Acrobat X Adobe Reader X can: Review documents with a complete set of commenting tools using a simple, unified tool pane Comment on video using commenting and markup tools to add feedback to a specific frame Fill in and save PDF forms Digitally sign PDF documents or add document timestamps Comply with PDF digital signature standards, including ETSI PAdES Parts 2, 3, and 4
