Ebook- Multiple pdfs or Single Big PDF

Hi,
I am working with this ebook that is 10 megs(contains links...lots of multimedia links, buttons and images) per chapter. It can be reduced to 2 mb but all links are lost.
There are 20 chapters.

The question is
would it be better to
1) link the different pdfs via bookmarked 'destinations' ?
OR
2) should I create a single 200mb pdf?

Using destinations seems the way to go but the destination pdfs have to be downloaded each time they are accessed during each session. This is annoying in terms of user experience if the user is navigating between chapters.

On the other hand a 200mb pdf will take forever to download.

Which option would you choose and why? Is there any other option

Thanks for any help

hi Jake,

In my opinion, splitting the files and posting them will be good idea, using bookmarks to navigate between the files.
this will be helpful to those who wants to read a chapter at-a-time or looking for particular topic. They wont require to download the complete file. split them into files with size 1 to 2 mb so that downloading wont be much annoying...

Does anyone know if it is possible to split a pdf containing an embedded movie into smaller file sizes and put it back together after downloading for viewing. Possibly using the unix tools split and splice?
