I have a user on XP x64 and she has 7.09 reader and gets an error message when she openes a PDF (or tries to) on the web.
She CAN open PDF's fine from the network or a local computer.
Uninstalled and reinstalled the program, updated to 8 reader and still no luck, downgraded to 7.09 to ensure no other problems.

My Product Information:
Reader 7, Windows

We need a little more info here. What Web browser and OS is she using? Some problems were encountered with Safari on the Mac in earlier versions of the browser.

You might have the user be certain to upgrade the browser to the most recent version and try a different browser if problems persist. She can also control the PDF viewing in the Preferences to display the PDF as an inline view in a browser window or save the file to her hard distk and open it later in Reader. Visit the Preferences and click Internet to change where the PDF is displayed.

I'm using Acrobat 9.0 on WinXP. My browser is Firefox (most recent).

For some time now, when I am emailed a link to a PDF, I get the following when I click it:

"The Adobe Acrobat/Reader that is running can not be used to view PDF files in a Web Browser. Please exit Adobe/Reader and exit your Web Browser and try again."

It's a hassle to have to save all PDF's to my desktop before I can open them. Is there something I can do?
