While trying to export a file to excel, I get the following message when it aborts:
"Bad PDF; could not read page structure. [20]. This PDF document was created by exporting from a software package for contractors known as Starbuilder. Thanks for your ideas.

My Product Information:
Acrobat Standard 7.0.8, Windows

Hi,
Just some nattering on my part, but -
Your local machine may not have the requisite font installed.
The PDF may not have fonts embedded & so, font outlines are used.
These may be somehow askew so exporting cannot be done by Acrobat.
If "Starbuilder" incorporates Crystal Reports for PDF generation then that may be the issue.
My understanding is that one of the series of Acrobat 7.x update patches resolved the Crystal Reports issue.
So, perhaps, a step through of updates for 7.x may help.

As you suspected, the pdf file is generated by Crystal Reports. I updated Acrobat to the latest version, and still got the same error meessage wehn trying to convert the pdf file. However, I appreciate your suggestion. The later versions of Acrobat would have those 7x updates as a part of them, or would they?

For Acrobat 7.x has updates to dot version 7.1.1 at
Acrobat for Windows UpdatesAfter that it is into the 8.x product run then into today's 9.x product.
Typically, what was in previous versions (that was thought to be "good") continues in newer versions.

While maintaining software current or within one step of current has benefits;
it seems that the real issue is with how Starbuilder/Crystal Reports creates its output PDFs.
Something is amiss there.
Perhaps a tweek to Crystal Report's report generator to output to Excel?
Then go Excel to PDF?
