I have a file of approx 2mb, and about 200 pages. When I extract 10 pages, the resulting file is about 1mb. Why so large in comparison with the original???

Acrobat Pro 7.0.0, Windows

Is the content on the extracted pages contributing to the file size (i.e. a lot of images)? Did you select File > Save As and save the file, then examine the file size? You might also select File > Save As and save the original file after extracting the pages, then compare the file sizes to see if the two file sizes added together come close to the original document's file size.ted

Thanks for your quick response Ted. I went back to the original file, reduced file size, then extracted the pages again. Result:- Original File>1.83Mb, extract > 567kb, Much better! Once again, thanks
