I have set the initial view as 'Facing'. When i navigate from one PDF to other the opening PDF opens in 'facing'. But when i view those PDFs online and navigate from one pdf to another the opening PDF opens in 'Single' Mode. Please suggest what can fix this.

My Product Information:
Acrobat Pro 7.0.9, Windows

Hi --

When you view a PDF online, it is shown via the browser, using the settings for the tool chosen to view PDF files. You may be using Acrobat Standard or Professional from your desktop, and Adobe Reader via your browser.

Check and change the settings to display the desired view. In your browser window, look for settings in the Tools menu.

For instance, in Firefox, choose Tools > Options > Content and click Manage in the File Types area to open a list of file formats and programs that handle them. Scroll through the list to find the PDF file extension and see what program opens in response to the file format. Select the file format and click Change Action to modify the program used.donna.

Hello Donna,

I believe the question he is asking is if there is any way to set the hyperlink that goes to the pdf he's uploaded to command whatever the pdf reader that the person viewing his pdf link is using to be set to facing pages when they open his pdf via his hyperlink. For example if you add #zoom=90 to the end of a pdf link it sets the zoom to 90%...

Ex: http://www.frankreubeldesigns.com/FRDcatalog2008.pdf#zoom=100So he's asking, and I was wondering the same thing btw, if there is anyway to add something to the end of the link similar to that or in some kind of html code that causes their default pdf viewer to open up the pdf link with the page view set to facing pages automatically. Is that possible?

Ok so that's not really what he's asking, just me :).

Hi.

Same answer. The view is controlled by the user. You can write some JavaScript to force the issue. Check with the JavaScript forum for details.
