Find out PDF file's original file format

Hi there,

Is there a way to check the format of the original file prior to its being converted to PDF format? Can I check the property or something?

In Acrobat 8, select "File/Properties" from the menu and look in the "Description Tab". There you will see the Application and the producer of the PDF.
