Flatten Page & Flatten Document

There's a javascript (http://blogs.adobe.com/acrolaw/2010/02/add-a-flatten-document-menu-item-to-acrobat/) out there that once copied into the javascript folder (Program files/adobe/acrobat 10.0/javascript) is suppose to place two menu items that will allow you to either flatten a page or flatten a document. It worked fine in Acrobat 9 but I can't seem to get this to work in Acrobat X Pro (version 10.1). It would be fantastic to add this to the Quick Tools menu.

Thanks, Bill

Acrobat X doesn't have a "Document" menu, so you'll need to put it on the Edit menu. Change the two lines that say

cParent: "Document",

into

cParent: "Edit",

Scripts which create a menu item can't be added to Quick Tools - for that, the script will have to load itself as a toolbar button, and that's entirely different code to the example you're looking at.

Hi williamrd,

Sure you can do this in Acrobat X, and add it to the Quick Tools toolbar as well. A free Flatten Page Content toolbar script is available for download at pdfscripting.com.Flatten Page Content Tool. You may also want to watch this video that discusses automation tool changes from earlier versions of Acrobat and Acrobat X, and how to move tools from the Tools Pane to the Quick Tools toolbar-

Thanks so much! I'm glad I found this site as i spent hours trying to figure this out. AcrobatUsers.com is terrific and thanks for turning me on to psfscripting.com...I'm going to check that out.

Thanks, Bill
