I just downloaded Acrobat reader into a new Vista computer for a client. He also runs Microsoft Office 2007. When he tries to open a pdf attachment from email, all he gets is a lot of garbled text. Is there a fix?

What mail application do you use?
What's the part of Office 2007 in this case?
What is the text look like and how should it look normally.
Does this problem only apprear with attached pdf-files from a mail?
If so, ask the sender to send you a pdf twice.
Once as pdf and then also packed into a zip file.
Check if the unpacked file get's destroyed.
Is it destroyed (every time), the reason may be the mail application you use or the mail provider's application.
Then you really should test another mail application/provider.
If the problem happens only with files from a specific sender, you don't have a change to solve the problem by yourself.
