Sometimes when I scroll in Acrobat reader, this window pops up OVER the pages I'm scrolling through that shows a thumbnail image of the current page with the visible portion of the page highlighted. It is easily my all time least favorite acrobat reader feature and I have no idea how to get rid of it nor what it is even called. Please advise!

I attached an example of what i'm talking about. It's that little screen that says "Page 27 of 125". Man, I hate that thing... I know I can close it with the little "x" in the upper right corner, but it will be back. I want to close it permanently.

wow, this thread is all atwitter with activity! 27 views and no replies. Well, I found a great solution. It's called foxit and I downloaded and installed it in less time than adobe reader takes to open.

It is good that Foxit resolved your problem.

What I find interesting is that the feature (the pop-up) that appears when the slider button is in click-hold via a mouse left-click and dragged
does not appear with the upper left "x" when I use this feature. Also, it only persists while I "click-hold" the slider button.
This is with AA8 & AA9.I find that using the alternate page displays and page magnification views available result in the pop-up becoming unobtrusive while still
performing the user aid it was designed to deliver.

Be well...

Thanks for your reply. The point about finding it useful in your case is valid: there's no accounting for taste. However, I usually find the thing obscuring the very text I'm scrolling to try to read. And I think my point still stands that there should be an easy, intuitive and PERMANENT way to shut the thing off. Nor has about an hour of searching through forums like these yielded any answer.

Cheers
