I've just upgraded to Acrobat Pro 9.0 from 8.1. It seems the help file is missing. When I click on help, nothing happens. Anyone encountered this before or know how to fix it?
Thanks,
Wislndixie

If you navigate to the following directory can you open the Help files?
{install path}\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Help\en_US\Acrobat Pro\9.0\Help.php

Yes, I can go to the help files "manually" and open the files with internet explorer. I created a shortcut on my desktop to the help files. But for some reason, the link within Acrobat Pro 9.0 under the help dropdown menu doesn't work to either open the files or connect me when I select online support. One customer support rep told me via e-mail that the help files were no longer installed with Acrobat Pro 9.0 and I was supposed to link to them on the internet. Another said I had to uninstall and reinstall and change my "permissions" and was supposed to e-mail me the steps to do this. So for now, I'm just using the shortcut, but the help files are on my hardrive because I can open them from explorer.

If you can navigate to the Help files and open them, then they were installed with Acrobat. Does the keyboard shortcut F1 bring up the Help files?

Have you tried using the Repair Acrobat Installation command under the Help menu? Do you have other versions of Acrobat and/or Reader installed on your system?

Thanks so much for your reply. The f1 key doesn't work either. I've run the repair acrobat installation. I've reinstalled acrobat pro 9.0. as far as other versions, I upgraded from 8.01 and followed the onscreen instructions except, deactivation of 8.01. I didn't want to deactivate 8.01 until I knew 9.0 was installed and working correctly.

I also cannot obtain Acrobat 9 help files - online or in the .pdf file.

I upgraded from version 6.

Since then I have no help files. There are no help files on the CD or any folders in the installed C:\ProgramFiles\Adobe9 folders.

The F-1 key returns no results either.

There appears to be no true fix for this. I've Googled and Adobe/Support. Nothing that has worked.

This is VERY frustrating!

Thanks . . . Rick

It may be that the Help files were not installed during a custom installation. You might try adding them back through the installer.
