Hello,

I am just starting to use my new Acrobat 8.0 and would like to know if t can be used for a specific task.
I have about 500 mannuals of products and they are constantly being updated. Those mannuals contain a selection of separate documents, which are common for some but not for others.
What I need is to have a final document with the latest update without having to put them together and converting them every time it is updated (imagine to do that with more than 500 mannuals).
I have watched some video tutorials and learned how to do pdf packages, however I don't think the package can "update itself".
So, I would appreciate some ideas of how I could use Acrobat 8 to simplify this process.

Thank you!

Acrobat does well as the final format for your manuals but in applications where content is changing and being incorporated by reference in various locations, you're better off using a robust technical publishing tool like FrameMaker. Document Management systems also offer the capability of updating "where used" content references as well. In these applications it's necessary to use a tool that can "compose and reflow" information dynamically, which is not inherent in Acrobat (unless you're working with forms).
