How do I get Acrobat to access my email app?

I have Outlook assigned as my default email app. When I click on the Email All Recipients link for a distributed form in the Tracker I get an error saying the Acrobat cannot connect to my email program. I get the same kind of error if I try and send a document for an email review.

How do I get Acrobat to recognize or use Outlook?

I found an answer elsewhere. So if anyone using this forum ever encounters the same problem here is how I learned to fix it. I am using Windows 7 by the way.

Click on Start > Default Programs > Set program access and computer defaults > Custom (Expand this by clicking the little down arrows on the right side of the window.) > Choose a default e-mail program from the list which in my case is Outlook. Then click Ok and it works.Even though I had specified in the app that I wanted Outlook to be the default this needs to be done.

I have gertw22 on the Adobe Acrobat Window forum to thank for this tip.

I have the same problem but I am using a Macintosh computer and my mail client is entourage. When I'm using Acrobat professional the shared review sees my default mail program as Mac OS mail so then I have to manually paste-in my e-mail address book from entourage. How do I get Acrobat to see the entourage mail client address book?

Thank you
Tim

Tim,

I have never used Entourage so I don't know how things work very well let alone much about how things connect up on the Mac. You might try doing a search on the Adobe forum for Acrobat on the Mac to see if anyone has anything to suggest. When I did my search I actually did a general Google search and looked a couple of the hits.

I was having the same problem until I found your post. I too am using Windows 7 and could not send PDF files by simply clicking "attach to email". I am very grateful to you for answering your own post with the solution.

Have a great day!
