How do I remove the extra space?

In one of my pdf files, I have to remove a few portions of the document. I have been able to successfully remove the unwanted text from the document. But, this resulted in extra space (gaps) in the document pages.

Can someone please let me know how to remove these gaps?
Also, is there any way I can automatically rebuild the TOC?

Thanks in advance,
Suresh

Acrobat (and PDF in general) is not meant to be an editable format. You can remove the occasional word or character with the touchup tools in Acrobat, but it won't reflow properly unless the document is tagged AND you're very lucky. Any significant changes to a document should be made in the original application (Word, etc.) and not in the PDF file.

Tables of contents etc. which are part of the PDF pages won't change - PDF bookmarks can be edited by right-clicking them.

If you don't have the original file, Acrobat can save to other formats (such as Word) but again the quality of that document will vary, and it can never be 100% accurate as not all of the original file's structure will be exported to PDF.

UVSAR, thanks for the prompt reply.
From your mail, what I understood is, even if I have to delete a single line in a pdf or for that matter a single word - I need to recreate the pdf again from the source(such as word).
Oh man, that sucks!!

PDf is an end-destination format - it should contain the final version of a document, but major changes to the document should be done to the original. Think of it as a printout - a very clever one, but a printout all the same.

You can, in some cases, remove a word or two, or correct a typo - but the page contents will not reflow like they do in an editing program such as Word or InDesign.
