How to make an editable pdf?

Hi Acrobat mavens,
I'm new here so pardon any faux pas. My question is really for people who will be using the PDF's I generate from Autocad.

In my job, I generate pdf files with a title and date on the bottom. We distribute them throughout the year without any changes other than the date and title. We would like to hand off this simple task to someone else in the office using Acrobat as opposed to me having to edit every AutoCad drawing file. I took a look at our Acrobat Pro 9 but could not figure out how it could be done. It can be done can it not?

thanks

There are two options, depending on where the title and date are in the PDF.

If they're part of the "flat" page content, then Acrobat users can edit them using the Touchup Text tool in the Advanced Editing menu - however this can be a bit fragile if the text is part of a flow, so something as simple as deleting the first or last character can cause it to jump someplace else on the page, or move other objects that follow it.

A more reliable option, given you'll need to change them repeatedly, is to leave a blank space in the page and add the date and time using the Add Watermark tool, placing it as editable text in front of the page. That way any Acrobat user can use the Edit Watermark dialog item to update the text as required, without any risk of changing the page content itself.

Both options work fine for my purposes. Thanks.
