I'm using Acrobat Professional 8.0 in creating pdfs for our website.

on the e-mail addresses within the pdf, the mail to is incorrect, i.e., should be [link=mailto:marcia [dot] obrien [at] stcharlescity [dot] com]marcia [dot] obrien [at] stcharlescity [dot] com[/link] instead email mailto is [link=mailto:obrien [at] stcharlescity [dot] com.]obrien [at] stcharlescity [dot] com.[/link] Does any one have a solution to this problem?

Thanks.

Marcia

Are you asking about a mailto: address on a Submit Form button? If so, open the Button Properties and click Submit a form in the Actions list. Click Edit and edit the line of text at the top of the Submit Form Selections dialog box.

Sorry I didn't provide more information. These are word documents (MS Office Word 2003 documents). I open the document, print to Adobe PDF. After it is a pdf, the e-mail no longer works correctly.

in word, I have selected the email address and chose to insert hyperlink, then select e-mail address. The email address is correct - until after I create the pdf.

Does that help?

I am also having this problem in that it picks up the email address after the first period in the email

ex ... aaaaa [dot] bbbbb [at] mail [dot] com is replaced by bbbbb [at] mail [dot] comI would hope there is an easy fix to this, that I'm missing rather than having to scan the full document and changing each and everyone by hand

Thanks in advance

This was a known issue in Acrobat 7 if you used the "Create From URLs In Document" or the automatic detect feature. It was corrected in Acrobat 8. Alternatively, you can use the PDFMaker macro in your application (if it's a supported application like Word) to create the links or manually correct the links in Acrobat. If you use the PDFMaker macro, just make sure that "Add Links To Adobe PDF" is selected under the Change Conversion setting menu. For more information on this solution visit:
