Inop Links

I have a new install of Acrobat 9 Pro and when I open a specific PDF in my browser or save it to my hard disc and open it, the links don't work. I can open the same file on my wife's computer and the links work fine. Any ideas what might be wrong or more importantly how to fix it? BTW I've uninstalled and re-installed Acrobat which made no difference. Thanks for any suggestions!

Was PDF created with bookmarks, document structrue and external links made active? This option would also provide links to words with links behind them.

In Acrobat 7 and above there is a user preference to allow Acrobat/Reader convert text strings that appear to be links to active hyperlinks. Have you checked to see if this is the case?

Thanks for the reply. No bookmarks that I see nor can I find anything to make external links active. Can you point me to the command?

If the user preference you are referring to is under General and is "Create links from URLs, then it is enabled. If there is some other setting I am not aware of it.
