inserting pictures

How do I get a Picture to insert but be only a small part of the whole page. Im new and trying to figure this out on my own. ANY and ALL suggestions appreciated.

Acrobat Standard 9.0, Windows

open the graphic in your favorite image editor (for example, photoshop elements), markee and copy any portion of the graphic. open target pdf in acrobat and do an edit>paste on the page where you want to place the graphic. with either the hand tool (H) or the select text tool (V) or select object tool (R) [H and V and R are single key accelerators], click on the newly pasted graphic to activate grab handles. reposition and resize to taste.
