Inserting a row in a pdf table?

We are completing a long grant application in pdf. The document has many tables where our text is entered or the original text is to be edited by us. Often there is textnote in the last row to "(insert additional rows as needed)". I've searched and tried all of the tools I can find but no luck adding another 4 cell row onto the table. We're running Acrobat Professional v8. Please help.

Acrobat is not intended as an editing software. It is always better to edit the document in something like word and then convert to PDF

We do not have the original document, only the pdf. So we would still like to insert what may be called text boxes under Acrobat but aligned to the present pdf table and inserted or pasted in some non-laborious manner.

We finally located the original documents so we're all set.

Thanks to everyone who looked into this.
